I am in Florida and have hit the ground running. Seven out of the last nine meals have been scheduled and eaten at a restaurant. Not bad- completely enjoyable with people I love to work with. My parents arrive in a few hours and we are headed to the west coast of Florida to give all the love and support we have to my aunt and uncle. Life is so fragile and so very beautiful.

Yesterday, when trying to type newyorktimes.com, I accidentally typed MEWyork. Take a look:
1. The “Mew Yorker” sign
2. The ‘about us’ page
3. The fact that THAT is all there is to this site.
4. The possibility that someone in the history of time has actually purchased that poster.

This is one of my favorite opening sequences to a movie or a musical, ever. Happy Halloween…
These two little guys are wreaking havoc in my parent’s house. Having babies around, of any sorts, changes the dynamics in a home. However, that is why they are made to be so cute- it makes it impossible to get upset with them…
The last few days in Sweden, I decided to act like a tourist:
That white ‘globe’ in the distance is right by where we were living.
After talking about it excessively, we finally went to Skansen (basically a miniature Sweden on this island, with old Swedish houses from throughout the country, an amphitheatre and an open air zoo.) In the zoo, they have a cageless lemur house that you can walk around and mingle with the lemurs. ”The lemurs can touch you, but you cannot touch the lemurs.” It sounds like a bad high school, made for tv movie, huh?
Behold, the super zen lemur…
And then we went on a 24 hour cruise to Finland…just because it was a Monday, the tickets were super cheap and hey, who could beat cruising with a bunch of cool old people?
Night number one we went to a traditional Czech restaurant. Unfortunately, I was so stuffed from schnitzel number one, I just had a salad and called it good…well, salad and delicious Czech beer, of course.
I did NOT have any of this, nor could I talk anyone else into eating it:
My friend, Fredrik, did eat the flaming meat, though:
We were there to do recording with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. It was cool to sit back and hear music be recorded for new films and crazy pop songs.
Erik proudly displays the piece of his that they are recording.
And then it was time to go to a traditional Italian restaurant and eat a 5 course meal. Guts, get ready…
Stuffed mushrooms…
Garlic prawns and bread…
Pear, gorgonzola and walnut tortellini…
And tiramisu.
Oh, and drinks…
drinks…
And more drinks…
I highly recommend a trip to Prague…and then a 3 day fasting.
