Oskarshamn is a small town- running into to people you know wherever you go…

The students set up and executed the first Lovewell battle of the bands.  This group drew “reggae” and “I hate you…” I think.

Smores over tiny barbecue trays.  Classy.

There is a new hotel in town that was built in the old swimming hall.  This light hangs in the bar and is simply fantastic.

The sound of music…from Daybreak

July 25th, 2009 .

We did a very rudimentary recording (in a living room) of some of the music from Daybreak.  Below are the links to the files.  Download them and listen and use them as you please!

Sights and Sounds

July 25th, 2009 .

It has been a wonderful week here in Sweden.  We, of course, started brainstorming our show and actually came up with a solid idea the first time around the circle.  That has never happened before.  We also rehearsed songs from other Lovewell shows and performed with Nippe’s band at an old church in Mönsteras, Sweden.  A rock show in a church? Why not?

This video is neat. Did I just use the word neat? Yeah. Anyway, “Twinkle, Twinkle” one syl-A-ble at a time:

Finishing up Lovewell show number two. Superpowerless: An action-packed musical opens on Friday night at The Human Race Theatre in Dayton, OH. Joe created the graphic for the poster and such- it came out just like we hoped it would.

Went to see a movie (Away We Go) by myself the other day. It is the first time in my life I have gone to the theatre alone. Is that weird? Has everyone else out there done it? Well, I liked it. Will be doing it again soon.

Close the show on Saturday, fly to Sweden on Sunday,  arrive on Monday, start another show that afternoon.  It sounds nuts, and it is slightly nuts, but I am also giddy about the return. Giddiness is fuel for constant motion.

Finally bought a new camera after losing mine on ‘the world’s most expensive ski trip in the history of time’ (fractured tibia, unused ski pass, lost camera-go figure.) Now, the internet world will be spared from the high quality photos taken with my iPhone.=)

Harry Potter hype?  Hmm.
—————-
Tomorrow, Swedish friends Cecilia and Jenniffer arrive here in Dayton.  Friday, more friends from Florida fly in to see the show.  The endless support and love in the Lovewell clan never ceases to amaze me. If it ever does, I guess I’m done.
