Taking this week to refuel. Jam and I are driving to Ft. Lauderdale next week. Have we lost our minds? Yes.

Something I have always wanted…

May 18th, 2009 .

Hanging on the wall, in the bathroom of the old farm house at New Zoar is a reminder of something I have struggled with my whole life. I guess it is what one might call ‘the ultimate struggle’ in life. Upon reading the words posted below, I realized that finally, I have come to my own version of this definition…and truly have embraced it. I cannot pin point when it happened and perhaps, didn’t even realize it was happening. But having been an offender of every item on this list at some point in my life (and I am sure at some point again in the future) I am thankful to know what the peaceful side feels like.

(Yes, I took this down from the bathroom, into the kitchen and sat at the table while Nippe read me words and I typed them. It felt that important.)

Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to inner peace and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.

Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:

A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather on fears based on past experiences.
An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
A loss of interest in judging other people
A loss of interest in judging self.
A loss of interest in interpreting others actions
A loss of interest in conflict
A loss of ability to worry. (This is a very frequent symptom.)
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
Frequent attacks of smiling.
An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen
An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.

CAUTION: If you have some or all of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition of inner peace may be so far advanced as to not be curable. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed only at your own risk.

A hike to see some beavers…which we did not.

Just before we crossed over the beaver damn, when we were all still clean.

Getting swamp foot.

Notice Jamie’s elegant ‘beaver hike’ wear. This face says “I just stepped ankle deep in beaver goo.”

An hour later, we made it back to the farm.

“Should we finish writing this show that has to be complete by Sunday?”

“Naw. Let’s head to town to the diner.”

Staff
Sadly, none of us entered the tournament because we did decide to return to the farm to try to finish this piece.

The end.

We are writing a crazy show. Really. It may be nuts, but we won’t know until perspective can be had. Until that time…fun is a constant.

New Zoar: Wednesday, May 6th

May 6th, 2009 .

Woke up 5 minutes late.

Spent the morning doing Yoga.

Spent the rest of the morning brainstorming.

Went to Carrollton (into town) and ate at the only diner.

Went grocery shopping with 6 people.

More brainstorming. Getting somewhere so cool

Waiting to eat delicious taco pie prepared by Margie and Mats.

Then hot tub time.

Then sleep like a baby time.

Creating, living, cooking and being with like minded people is bliss.

Spent the morning doing yoga.

Spent the day brainstorming a new show.

Spent the evening cooking an Italian feast.

Spent the night watching Company.

On a road trip…

May 3rd, 2009 .

Headed to the farm (New Zoar.)

Stopped in St. Louis and had a lovely time with my Webster professor ( Kat and her husband Larry) and saw Caberet. Also saw the famous Byron Grant (who oddly enough seemed to have gotten younger?)

First iPhone blog post. Welcome to the world, Carrie.

Will start writing a new show on Tuesday. Suggestions?
