More Zoar

May 21st, 2008 .

I am going to keep the ‘filling in’ on the last 3 weeks going for a while…

Staff
Put almost 4000 miles on my car in less than a month.

Staff
Drove to Pittsburgh to pick Margie and Mats up from the airport. You have to love Squirrel Hill. HAVE to.

Staff
Back at New Zoar.

Staff
One night we acted like real pioneers and Peter cooked us dead animal over an open flame. You notice I say ONE night.

Staff
Some of our other collaborators.

Staff
Piling into cars like 15 year olds.

Staff

Staff
We broke some stuff.

Staff
These parking meters were .10 cents for 2 HOURS. Umm..what?!?!

Staff
We were a motley crew that caused a ruckus every time we went into the very small village of Carrollton. Here we are making a scene at the only diner in town.

Staff
The gazebo where yoga took place and twilight dinner was had.

Staff
9 people in a kitchen cooking?

Staff
This is how that worked out…

Staff
A hike to a near by beaver pond.

Staff
Margie just got a taste of some ‘earthy’ spirit.

Staff
Rick Gore or Napoleon Dynamite?

Staff
On our one night out we drove to the town of Zoar (that New Zoar was named after) and had a German feast!

Out of the forest

May 19th, 2008 .

The time in Ohio, at the farm, was absolutely wonderful. A brand new show has been born and will now take on a life of its own. I cannot wait to see what happens with “The Gloaming.” So, I couldn’t post pictures for weeks…so now I am going to go on an escapade that will last all week. Here is the begining:

“Magic, if it is to exist, requires that you believe in it with all your heart. ”

Staff
The “New Zoar” crew.

Staff
This is the old house at where I slept and where we all would cook meals together. It was haunted…for real, but only by good ghosts.

Staff
The chicken coup hotel rooms where some of the gang stayed.

Staff
The “barn” in which we trashed while we wrote songs and talked endlessly.

Staff
The creative flame that lasted for a week.

Staff
Marcus, acting all butch, mowing the lawn.

Staff
Umm…the mowing did not go so well.

Spring Springing

May 7th, 2008 .

I am so out of touch with the real world right now. At first, I kind of thought I would lose my mind- no cell phone, very sloooooooooow internet connection that only works when it feels like it, no place to go, no one to meet. Now, I must admit that this break from reality is an amazing gift. It is easy to say “I rely to much on technology” but it is not easy to let it go. These weeks have forced me to let it go. In the letting go, I have been able to be free and creative and in the moment, every moment.

This farm is incredibly beautiful. The people here are incredibly beautiful. The creation that is coming from this process is incredibly beautiful.

Spring has sprung.

Into the wild

May 3rd, 2008 .

I arrived in Ohio this week to embark on a 2 week creative journey without any distractions from the real world. 9 artists have gathered here to write a show- to give birth, along with nature, as spring blossoms.

We started a fire the first night that we have not let die.

This house is 200 years old.

My cell phone does not ring because I get no service.

There is nothing but silence and no silence at all from nature’s chorus.

Hot tub.

One million stars.

Petals snowing down from the trees.

Riding lawn mowers.

Bees.

A big kitchen.

Beer.

A gazebo.

Stretching.

Guitars and a piano and lots of singing.

Brainstorming.

Buzzing.

Peace.
