Miniature modern day living

February 26th, 2008 .

This weekend we were invited over to David’s (Maria’s boyfriend) apartment for a few drinks before we headed to dinner. It is a cute little place in a nice part of Stockholm. He had bought snacks and lit candles and made everything cozy. I was impressed. Then…I went to the bathroom.

David, I hope you still like me. It is just that your bathroom brought us endless amusement. This is how I treat my friends…outing their weird life situations on my blog. Consider yourself friended.

Maja and Helena arrive at Stockholm Centrum and we proceed to make a scene with our loudness.

You cannot see it very well, but little Harry (who is not so little anymore) is wearing a moose skin (yeah, yeah, I know) aviators cap. Umm…do I have to even say how flipping adorable this was?

Staff
What wouldn’t you give this kid?

“Hush little baby, so we can party…” Emelie’s sister, Madeline, suits Harry up for bed.

Madeline’s boyfriend, Pontus, decided that it was a waste to let one drop of wine go untasted. He proceeded to take the box apart (boxes of wine are not so kool aid tasting here…sorry Ma=) take the bag out, blow air into it and extract every last drop. It was impressive.

Richard is this crazy funny dude who carries the plastic apple out from his computer around with him everywhere he goes. Everywhere. He. Goes. That is dedication.

Here is proof that some work has been taking place. There is live video proof on the Lovewell blog if you don’t believe it from one photo.

This is the “Tomas, act lost!” face.

Pirating a connection…like always.

Mmm…a delicious Tapas dinner.

Here is a clip from Peace of Mind, the Lovewell show that was written in the States in ‘03 and was performed in Sweden last week. The show has now been around the world. So cool.

Picking up

February 16th, 2008 .

——————–
Picking up where you left off is a gift worth giving. Sometimes the events that have taken place in between meetings, although enormous and life altering, are not as important as the relationship itself. So, letting go of all of the details and just knowing that the person who stands before you…that you love them…and that what you have or have had is more important than those details…well, it feels so good to do that.
———————
Last night, I went to Linköping, Sweden to see a production of Peace of Mind (our 2003 Lovewell Lauderdale show.) It was so cool to see this performance as an audience member. It also was wonderful to watch the reactions of the house as the show played out. Having these shows live on and on, therefore lets the lives and spirits of those who wrote them live on and on. Obvious. Still so cool.

Valentine’s Day

February 14th, 2008 .

“Paper moon, paper heart, pink balloon, work of art. Al Capone, Bugs Moran, Valentine’s Day.
Bootleg gin, porkpie hat, dew Drop Inn, dirty rat, through the heart Cupid’s dart, Valentine’s Day.

Oh, day to repay the one that you love, Gentlemen, take off your hats as I speak thereof.
Just a brief break from the push and the shove, we may go a few rounds without boxing gloves.

Land your punch, I stand my ground, we break for lunch and a second round.
We set them up, we knock them down, Valentine’s Day.

Me and you, you and him, him and her, us and them, we keep score love as war, Valentine’s Day.”

We opened Carry On and had a wonderful run. I am so glad that I was able to be in Salina and work on that show. It is no coincidence that the show was called Carry On. Indeed.

I am longing for spring so badly. Every time I opened the back door at my parent’s house, I secretly hoped to see the green garden and the flowers blooming like magic.
———————————–
Headed to Sweden today to run some workshops over the next weeks. Am very excited to see the crew. Get ready.
———————————–
Do you ever look at the clock every day at the exact same time, unintentionally? Then, all of a sudden, start to see those numbers everywhere you look?
———————————–
Being in the theatre this week and using the “God mic” made me think about what would happen if God (or whatever higher power you believe in) could literally flip a switch and talk to the world. “Umm…excuse me, I have an announcement to make….(insert something awesome here.)”

This is for you, Jam.

Get up and dance!

February 4th, 2008 .

Sometimes you go to a weird smelly bar attached to what used to be a nice hotel.

Sometimes they have pitchers of beer for $2.50

Sometimes there is Karaoke.

Sometimes, Ryan just feels like he must sing “Sussudio”

Sometimes Ryan’s singing makes people ballroom dance.
